Wellness and Education on the East End! Don’t Miss These June Events!
Greetings!
In 2013 I founded Artful Home Care. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those who are aging here on the eastern end of Long Island. Through quality care, education, and a holistic approach to healing we have already changed the lives of many individuals who live and work in our community.
It’s wonderful to see other organizations that share in this mission of creating successful aging for the community. This Saturday, June 1st is an opportunity to engage firsthand with alternative wellness practices at the 6th Annual Joseph P. Dwyer Day of Wellness. Those who served — and those who supported them in their service — have an opportunity to experience various holistic alternatives for achieving and maintaining personal wellness. The setting for this event offers a peaceful and relaxing environment where children can play and families and individuals can learn, share a meal, and laugh. Activities for Veterans and their families dealing with post-service transition issues will be available. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served. Camp Paquatuck, 2 Chet Swezey Road, Center Moriches, NY 11934. In association with Suffolk County, United Veterans register here: http://dayofwellness.org/
On Saturday, June 8th Artful Home Care is proud to host our second Art for Health discussion at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
I’ll be moderating the second lecture series that features seven extraordinary panelists, including, Deborah Adler, MA, ATR-BC, LCAT, Art Therapist, Patti Cronin-Hernandez, from The Ed & Phyllis Wellness Institute, Mare Dianora, Artist, Educator and Advocate, Robin Lombardo, Director of Music and Memory, Stefanie Sacks, MS, CNS, CDN and Nutritionist, Diane Schade, AGPCNP-BC, Geriatric and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, and Adrienne Wooduck, Senior Caregiver and End of Life Doula.
This is a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from these professionals as to what they feel and empowers one to have a quality of life while aging here on the east end. This event is encouraged for all age groups. Whether seeking information for yourself or a loved one the panelists will share their expertise, resources, and tools that can enhance one’s daily life. A big thank you to Brent and Laura Nicklas for supporting our mission and making this event free for all to attend. After the discussion there will be a reception with wine, generously donated by Churchill wines and spirits, hors d’oeuvres by Cittanova, as well as a tantalizing taste of east end zone plain tea as well as a new CBD-based refreshing beverage, Cloud Water. Come learn, taste, and experience what our speakers and donors have to offer.
