March Newsletter
Home Care in Hamptons NY
Dear Friends,
Each month as I prepare to write to you, I am eager to share the news of what Artful Home Care is doing to be a leader and innovator in the field of aging. So what to share first!!
Last month Artful Home Care presented an introduction of our agency to the artists, writers, musicians and creatives who attended the Neoteric networking and project sharing event at the Parrish Art Museum. We shared the news that we are seeking members of the community who may want to become “Lifestyle Companions” for the aging population. If you know of a caring and compassionate person who may be interested in becoming a part of our dynamic team, please forward them this newsletter and let them know they can begin a part time or full time career with Artful Home Care, and submit an inquiry here. We offer an Employee Referral Program. Any employee you refer to us who works 500 hours or more in 6 months, we will send you $250, just like that J!
This past week I attended the New York City chapter Aging 2.0 event. This cutting edge organization seeks innovators in the field of aging and invites them to share the product or service they offer to advance the world of aging. This organization is world-wide and has chapters in many cities across the world. We learned about a tech savy Doctor who is adapting an electronic communication model that is run from an app on your smart phone- where you don’t even have to see a doctor to get a script! We learned about a home care agency that is changing the way home care agencies run with state of the art technology that is available to the caregivers in the home. And we found out now you can use a smart app that connects you with a doctor to set up an in home visit with the click of a button! At Artful Home Care we are seeking inventive services, products and ideas that can allow us to provide our clients with exceptional care and our caregivers with exceptional education!
Artful Home Care is VERY EXCITED, about our “Art for Health” program currently offered at the Hamptons Lifelong Arts Center. From April 11- May 27th, we will offer a class on Mondays from 2-2:50, the first two sessions will be Assemblage with Scott Bluedorn, the second two are Bisque Ceramic Painting with Nancy Miller, and the final two are a Drawing 101 class with Paton Miller. Along with learning technique, observation and application, I will share the benefits and theories associated with art as a tool for healing! There are more than 30 classes available to anyone over age 18 during the Spring session. Some classes provide an opportunity for those with Parkinson’s or dementia to participate in movement and yoga, and all classes offer a chance to improve cognitive function. I myself will be excited to participate in a few classes! The cost is only $150 and you can take AS MANY CLASSES as you want for the entire 6 weeks, see the schedule and download the catalog. And if you register before March 11th, it is only $125!
Thank you for taking the time to read and learn more! We hope to see you soon! And should anyone you know and love be looking at the challenges of aging in their home, please don’t wait until they have an accident, or suffer from depression that often comes with growing old alone, call us now! Let us help you find the tools they need so they can maintain their lifestyle and independence!
With Gratitude,
Beth McNeill-Muhs
