Once every year as Labor Day is about to hit, I get this sad, displaced feeling in my body.  The warm summer nights will come to an end soon, the days will start to feel shorter, and the impending weather change sends a literal chill down my spine.  Yet, after I ponder this impending change for a few minutes, I also think about the beauty in the change of the season.  I think about the colorful landscape that will arrive, the quiet, dark evenings, and eventually the warmth from the fire, or that cozy blanket we all like to bring out.

Whether it is spring, summer, winter or fall, we all have the need for our physical, psychological and social health to be in order.  Of course our personal needs and safety are our first concern, but without our psychosocial needs being met: love and affection, security, self-reliance and acceptance, our health and well-being will be affected.
